role-play

noun (plural role-plays)

Definition:

1. acting out of part: the acting out of a part, especially that of somebody with a particular social role, in order to understand it better

2. game session involving taking on roles: in a computer or other game, a session during which players take on the roles of characters

verb (past and past participle role-played, present participle role-play·ing, 3rd person present singular role-plays)

Definition:

1. transitive and intransitive verb act out part: to engage or act out a part in role-playing

2. transitive verb playing character in game: in a computer or other game, to take on the role of a character in a game

role-play

–verb (used with object)

1.	to assume the attitudes, actions, and discourse of (another), esp. in a make-believe situation in an effort to understand a differing point of view or social interaction: Management trainees were given a chance to role-play labor negotiators.

2.	to experiment with or experience (a situation or viewpoint) by playing a role: trainees role-playing management positions.

Role playing is when two or more people take on a personality, trait, actions, and mannerisms that aren't their own in order to act out a scenario, or part of a game, or similar. Think of it as acting. In fact, it >is< acting. 

If you think about it, actors take on 'roles' for a movie or a play. 'Role playing' is acting out a role. 

So these people are acting out some scene, game, movie, whatever, that they know about and are comfortable doing online. It's actually quite fun with a good group of people.

We only hunt when our families have need

You place animal head trophies upon your wall
to make your egos walk vain and tall
Wolf needs no trophies for others to see
We only wish to live and preserve our family ...
We mate for life and survival just as you ...
We grieve for our lost ones same as you do
Why can we not share a new dawn ....
Let me be free to howl the moon my song

Loyalty and courage shines from my eyes
I am spirit of the wild that never dies
